There is a familiar ritual to making a video of your own website. You resize the browser until it looks right, hide the bookmarks bar, start a screen recorder, and move the mouse slowly enough to look deliberate. Then you do it again, because the cursor drifted. Then you crop, because the recording is 1512 points wide and you needed 1920. Then the site ships a copy change, and you do all of it a third time. Frametic does something different. It never records a screen. It renders your site.

The difference in one sentence

A screen recorder captures whatever a particular monitor happened to be showing. Frametic starts from the URL, captures the page headlessly at whatever resolution it likes, places that capture on a plane in a 3D scene, and renders a camera move over it — frame by frame, deterministically. Nothing about the output depends on your display, your window size, or how steady your hand was.

What determinism actually buys you

It sounds like an implementation detail. It is the whole product. Every frame is reproducible. The same project renders the same video today, tomorrow, and after a laptop change. There is no take one and take two. Resolution is a setting, not a ceiling. The capture is taken at a high device pixel ratio, so the page texture stays sharp when the camera pushes in close. Rendering the same project at Full HD, 4K, square, or vertical is a dropdown, not a re-shoot. Re-rendering after a deploy is one click. This is the part people underestimate. Your marketing video goes stale the moment you change your hero copy. When the source of truth is a URL rather than a recording, refreshing the video is a re-capture and a re-render — not an afternoon.

The scene, briefly

Once the page is captured, it becomes a textured plane in a real 3D scene with a real camera. That gives you the things a screen recorder cannot fake:
  • Camera moves — dolly-in, orbit, tilt-reveal — with easing that runs on the render, not on your mouse.
  • Actual depth of field. The blur is computed from a focal length and a focus distance, so the falloff behaves like a lens instead of a filter.
  • Light and dark from one project. Frametic can set your site's theme before the capture, screenshot each variant, and render both — same camera, same timing, two videos.
The theme matrix is a good example of the underlying idea. It is only cheap because we control the capture step. A screen recorder would have you flip the theme by hand and hope the second take matched the first.

What it does not do

It is worth being precise. Frametic renders a page, not a session. It is built for the shot of your product that sits at the top of a landing page, in a launch post, or in a social clip. It is not a replacement for a product demo where a real person clicks through a real flow with narration. If you need to show a five-step onboarding journey, record it. If you need your homepage to look like it was shot in a studio, render it.
